Floodpants was such an incredibly important show in The Brick’s OBIE-winning season. It brought together music, visual art, storytelling and theater. It formed a new collaboration between Fran and Laia Comas - a brilliant example of the potential between an artist who has been making art for decades with an artist fresh out of college. They just GOT IT. And it was really special to be in the audience for this expansive and heartfelt performance.

FLOODPANTS

THE MUSICAL

Written & Performed by Fran Pado Directed by Laia Comas Music by Goddess

Working with mad witch about town Fran Pado on her experimental folk musical Floodpants has been one of the highlights of my career as a director. She threads disparate narrative moments together with a logic of spontaneity only an artist deeply attuned with the lost wisdom of childhood can achieve, and her musical spells with band Goddess are scintillating tunes that make you fidget in your seat for more as you lean forward in your chair, hoping the music will sweep you up with it as it flits on by.
— Laia Comas, Director: Floodpants
